LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier Humane Society (GHS) is excited to announce the return of its Shop, Meet, Adopt adoption event at Walmart in Lewisburg on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Following the tremendous success of the first Shop, Meet, Adopt event, which saw eight cats find their forever homes, GHS is once again partnering with Walmart to bring adoptable cats and kittens directly into the community.
Community members are invited to stop by the grocery side entrance of Walmart to meet some of the wonderful felines currently in GHS’s care. Whether visitors are actively looking to adopt or simply want to learn more about the organization, this event provides an excellent opportunity to connect with GHS staff and discover how they can make a difference in the lives of local animals.

A SECOND CHANCE AT A FOREVER HOME
With so many wonderful cats and kittens waiting for families of their own, events like Shop, Meet, Adopt offer a valuable opportunity to introduce these animals to potential adopters outside of the GHS facility.
After seeing eight cats go home during the first event, GHS is optimistic that the community will once again show its incredible support and help make Shop, Meet, Adopt 2 another memorable success.
The Greenbrier Humane Society encourages residents to stop by, meet the available animals, and help spread the word. Even those who are unable to adopt can make a difference by sharing information about the event with friends and family.
