WHITE SULPHUR SPGS- From Sept.16–Oct. 6 purchases in the produce aisle helped fill tables and hearts with hope for local families in White Sulphur Springs.
Customers purchased specially marked Food Lion Feeds Gala apples bags in store or online through Food Lion To Go. Customers also donated $1, $3 or rounded up their purchase at the checkout or online through Food Lion To Go.
Proceeds from each bag they sold, and all customer donations, supported the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, which awards grants to local hunger-relief organizations to help provide food and resources that strengthen families and communities.
Since 2014, the annual Apple Bag Campaign has helped provide more than 55 million meals to local hunger-relief organizations. Congratulations to the local Food Lion in White Sulphur Springs finishing sixth out of 1,113 stores as they collected 3,167 bags, with 15,835 meals donated to the community.
Howard Fraley, the White Sulphur Springs Food Lion store manager and his team would like to thank their customers and local businesses that partnered with them to help feed the community.
“We are honored to be a part of this wonderful community,” Fraley added.
