MOOREFIELD, W.Va (WVDN) – Senator Jim Justice visited Pilgrim’s Moorefield to discuss the importance of West Virginia’s poultry industry and his efforts to support farmers, strengthen American agriculture, and protect the nation’s food supply through the Farm Bill.
“Agriculture is the backbone of rural America, and we have to do everything we can to support the people who feed our families and keep our communities strong. The poultry industry plays an important role in feeding America, supporting jobs, and keeping our agricultural economy moving. I’ve always believed that when our farmers and producers succeed, our communities succeed. We have a responsibility to support American producers, protect our food supply, and make sure the next generation has the opportunity to carry this industry forward,” said Senator Jim Justice.
“It was a pleasure to welcome Senator Jim Justice to our Moorefield facility and showcase the people who make our operation successful,” said Allen Collins, Complex Manager, Pilgrim’s Moorefield. “We appreciate his continued support of West Virginia farmers and his commitment to strengthening agriculture across our state. We are also grateful for his leadership on the Hot Rotisserie Chicken Act, which would help make high-quality protein more accessible to families participating in SNAP. We thank Senator Justice for taking the time to learn more about our business and to visit with our team members and grower partners.”
