FORT SPRING, W.Va. (WVDN) — The Greenbrier River Watershed Association is seeking volunteers for its annual spring cleanup, scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at the Fort Spring public stream access.

The event, held in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Make-It-Shine program, aims to remove trash and debris from the local watershed.

Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with coffee and muffins for participants. Organizers said the WVDEP will provide necessary supplies, including bags, gloves, and trash pickers.

In an effort to promote sustainability, volunteers will receive free Hydroflask reusable water bottles while supplies last.

The association is also asking residents to identify other areas within the watershed that require attention. Those who wish to report a location in need of an organized cleanup can call 304-647-4792.

Additional information and a schedule of upcoming events are available on the organization’s Facebook page at facebook.com/greenbrier.watershed.
