LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) – Carnegie Hall invites aspiring artists and creative beginners to explore the delicate world of watercolor in Watercolor in Miniature, a hands‑on workshop led by Roanoke‑based artist Lucinda Rowe on Saturday, May 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. Open to ages 14 and older, this small‑group class is limited to twelve participants, ensuring personalized guidance in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Designed as a beginner‑level, bite‑size introduction to watercolor, the workshop guides students through the process of creating a miniature landscape painting. Each participant will complete a small- framed artwork to take home, making this class an ideal entry point for those curious about watercolor or looking to build confidence with foundational techniques. All supplies are provided, and students of all experience levels are encouraged to attend.
The class fee is $45 for members and $55 for nonmembers.
Instructor Lucinda Rowe brings a rich background in fine art and illustration to the workshop. Specializing in delicately detailed biological illustrations – often featuring birds and insects – Rowe holds an MFA in Children’s Book Writing & Illustrating from Hollins University and a BFA in Drawing from Guilford College. She has taught at Radford University and is an active member of the Virginia Watercolor Society.
Carnegie Hall encourages early registration for this intimate and inspiring workshop celebrating the beauty of small‑scale watercolor.
