GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – According to a press release from the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, officers are “currently searching for Jason Roberts, age 52 of Renick. Roberts is wanted on felony warrants for Grand larceny, breaking and entering, destruction of property from an incident in March of 2025.”
According to the release, on May 6, around 3:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a call from an off-duty law enforcement officer who reportedly stated that “Roberts was possibly seen outside a residence on Benedict Lane.” Moments before deputies arrived at the location, Roberts reportedly left as a passenger in a vehicle, which was later located on Vago Road.
Allegedly, “Roberts had fled on foot from the vehicle into a wooded area before responding units could arrive. After an extensive ground search to include K9s from the Lewisburg Police Department, Roberts was unable to be located.”
The release states, “It is believed that Roberts had assistance in fleeing the area in another vehicle. It is unknown at this time if Roberts was armed, but has been known to carry weapons in the past.”
