Hamlin, W.Va. (WVDN) — On Friday, May 1, 2026, Trooper J.M. Bryant and Trooper. J.D. Adkins responded to Shell Gas Station on Little Coal River Road in Alum Creek, for an armed robbery and shots fired complaint.
The investigation revealed that Rebecca Peterson, 42, of Oceana, entered the Shell Station with the intent to commit a robbery, fired multiple rounds from a firearm, and fled the scene in a vehicle. Ms. Peterson was stopped shortly after in Kanawha County and taken into custody.
Ms. Peterson is being charged with Attempted Armed Robbery, Wanton Endangerment, Brandishing, Assault, and Destruction of Property and is currently awaiting arraignment.
