Kanawha County, W.Va. (WVDN) – On Monday, April 21, 2025,  Sr/Tpr L.A. Wriston responded to a domestic in progress through Metro 911 at Orefield Road, Kanawha County. Sr/Tpr Wriston arrived on scene to witness the residence fully engulfed in flames. After obtaining statements and further investigation, Sr/Tpr Wriston determined that Jason Elliot,41, of Tad, WV, had intentionally set fire to his residence and fled the scene. A short while later, Mr. Elliot emerged from a wooded area nearby and was detained without incident. The suspect had multiple burn wounds on his body and was transported by EMS for treatment. Sr/Tpr Wriston will obtain warrants for Mr. Elliot for (3) three counts of Felony Destruction of Property, (2) two counts of 1st Degree Arson and (1) one count of third-degree arson.
