GWINN
Evelyn Louise Lanier Gwinn, 86, of Lewisburg, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
She was born March 5, 1936 in Washington, DC; she was a daughter of the late Godfrey S. and Ruby N. Crumpler Lanier.
Evelyn was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gus Hamilton Gwinn; step-sons, Anthony “Tony” Gwinn and William Wallace Hensler, IV; and two brothers, Robert Seward Lanier and Walter Samuel Lanier.
Survivors include her children, Diane Marie Cleveland of Luray, VA, Donna Lee Meade of New Milton, WV, Debra Lynn Gwinn of Walnut Bottom, PA, Dorthey Hensler Kaiss of Hendersonville, TN, and William “David” Hensler of Front Royal, VA; two step-daughters, Sherri “Sissy” McMillion of Lewisburg, WV and Frances Diane Steward of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Marion Harris of Florida and Durley Cotham of New Mexico; a brother, Thomas Nelson Lanier of Florida; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, WV.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
