Edward Blaine Phillips II
Edward Blaine Phillips II, 65, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem, VA.
Born October 21, 1958, in Ronceverte, WV, he was the son of the late Edward Blaine and Marion Collins Phillips. Blaine was a 1976 graduate of Greenbrier East High School and attended West Virginia University.
With over 40 years as an insurance agent, he loved assisting his clients. People knew, when they went to see him, to expect a lengthy conversation. A little about insurance and a lot about everything else. His knowledge of the industry will be greatly missed.
Blaine loved Greenbrier County. He served for over a decade on the Greenbrier County Board of Zoning Appeals. In 2022, his fellow Greenbrier Countians honored him with an overwhelming election to serve as a County Commissioner. Blaine was so invested in his role and was proud to serve.
Blaine was a never-ending source of entertainment. You never knew what the next business adventure would be, what antique item would be restored to working order, or what great bit of wisdom would come from him. The neighborhood will miss the orange golf cart cruising around with Blaine and his sidekick, Spanky.
Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Turpin Phillips; his pride and joy, daughter, Erika Dailey and beautiful family; son-in-law, Nick; grandchildren, Landon and Leighton; sister, Marilyn Fraser; and a host of friends.
A celebration of Blaine’s life was held at 7 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, WV. Visitation as from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Blaine was an avid sporting clay shooter. In honor of this, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the 4-H Shooting Club, PO Box 586, Lewisburg, WV 24901 or in honor of his sidekick, Spanky, donations to the Greenbrier County Humane Society, PO Box 926, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
