Richard Andrew “Dick” Fleshman
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the loss of Richard Andrew “Dick” Fleshman, age 82, passed away July 8, 2026, peacefully at home in Alderson, WV.
He was born July 24th, 1944, in Buck, WV, a son to the late Betty and Howard Fleshman.
Richard served his country in the US armed forces in the naval division. He was machinist mate 2nd class aboard the USS Tautog 639 and was a proud veteran serving six years in the service. He was a loving father, son, brother, and friend. He was funny but stern and always there for wisdom or to lend a hand when a neighbor needed him.
He settled in Alderson and worked as a skilled carpenter and enjoyed singing at over 80 churches and was a devoted Christian.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Alice Faye Fleshman; four daughters, Vivian Fleshman (one child), Jennifer (one child) and husband, Tom Miller, Elizabeth (two children) and husband, Doug Newbrough, Laura (six children) and husband, David Chapman; and two grandchildren.
Richard’s siblings: Howie Fleshman, Royce and wife, Sherry Fleshman, Janet Bragg, and Causby Parker.
There will not be any funeral services or celebration of life as per the family’s request.
