Billy Ray Falls

Billy Ray Falls was born on May 23, 1948, in Lewisburg, WV, the seventh of 11 children born to Dora Roach Falls and Harry Frank Falls. He departed this life at 7:43 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Following the loss of his mother during childbirth, Billy spent much of his childhood at Davis Stuart with several of his siblings. Those early years helped shape the kind, hard-working, and resilient man he would become.

After proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War, Billy worked at a variety of jobs before concluding his career at Davis Stuart School as the Farm Manager. Throughout the years, he formed lasting friendships with many local farmers and members of the community who respected him for his hard work, generosity, and good nature.

Billy was preceded in death by his twin infants, Ray and Renee Falls; daughters, Amber June Falls and Tamra Falls Boswell; and the love of his life, Betsy Windon Falls; his sisters, Jean Wicks, Lynn Geiger, Mary Norris, and Kathleen Hylton; his brother, Earl Dosier; sisters-in-law, Tottie Falls, Dolores Falls, Cristie Dawson; brothers-in-law, Les Norris, Tom Geiger, Jesse Hylton, and Larry Windon.

Those left to cherish his memory include, the lights of his life – his beloved granddaughters, Madison Amber, Taylor Bray, and Miley Renee Boswell, all of Ronceverte, WV. Nothing brought a bigger smile to Billy’s face than spending time with his girls, and he loved each of them with his whole heart. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Joey Boswell of Ronceverte; brothers, Tom Falls of Lewisburg, Alfred Falls of Fayetteville, and Ray Falls of White Sulphur Springs; sisters, Dorothy Hylton (Dorsey) of Union and Ginger Blackburn of Lewisburg; sister-in-law, Judy Arzaga (Ralph) of Roanoke, VA; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, members, and friends.

Billy treasured his friendships around his life. Among those especially dear to him were Arthur Bartenslager, Joe and Mary Boswell. He deeply appreciated the companionship they shared, along with the many meals, conversation, and laughter that filled their time together.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Seasons and to Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Billy. A special thank you is extended to Mary Catherine Boswell and his many nurses and CNAs, whose kindness and dedication meant so much to him and his family.

Those serving as pallbearers are: Joey Boswell, Kaiden Bowyer, Arthur Bartenslager, Zach Bartenslager, Chris Hylton, and Wes Hylton.

Funeral services for Billy Ray Falls will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m.; with the funeral service beginning at 5:30 p.m., officiated by Kevin Altizer. Interment will follow at Morgan Cemetery in Ronceverte.
