ROANOKE, VA (WVDN)- Stellar Jiu Jitsu, located in Lewisburg, WV, competed in the Fuji Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tournament in Roanoke, VA on May 16, 2026.

Stellar took a team of 10 kids ranging in age from five to 15 yrs old and three adult competitors.

Stellar’s owners and coaches, Dan Kuprin, Rusty Nelson, and Keith Goldsmith, accompanied the team.

Stellar’s kids team won first place for the kids’ team, and the academy came home with a second-place finish for the whole academy and association division.

This is Stellar Jiu Jitsu’s second team tournament since they opened in September of 2025. The first team tournament they attended was also a Fuji BJJ tournament where they took home third place for the kids’ team and third place for academy. 

Stellar Jiu Jitsu offers kids and adult Jiu Jitsu classes and adult fitness classes. Experienced black and brown belts teach all Jiu Jitsu classes.
