RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – The Ronceverte City Council meeting was held on Monday, April 13, to a relatively small crowd, but the council members discussed some interesting and important topics on the evening.

After approving the minutes from the previous meeting and the March 26 special meeting minutes, Mayor Deena Pack discussed the 2026-01 Ordinance, which would allow outdoor dining for commercial businesses within Ronceverte city limits year-round. Motion was approved.

The flea market on the island, which was successful last year, will set up at the parking lot of the former skating rink due to other events like the splash pad, baseball fields, and the amphitheater, possibly having heavy traffic on the front side of the island. Motion was approved, pending two signatures. The flea market would be every Tuesday and Saturday morning.

Phase 4 of the water project upgrade, which would replace roughly 12,000 linear feet of pipe, service lines, and water meters, was approved. The hope is to get permission to bid soon. The request to release the funds for construction activity was approved.

Greenbrier County Commission candidate Matt Ford got in front of the room and introduced himself, and let everyone know his qualifications for the position that was vacated by Tammy Tincher. Ford said he was trying to get to every town’s council meeting

He reiterated twice that his main goal is to have the county and towns working together.

Police officer Larry Anderson will graduate from the police academy this week.

April is world autism awareness month, and the council members wanted to recognize that fact.

The Easter Egg hunt at Island Park was successful last weekend. There was a big turnout, and the city was grateful for everyone who made it happen.

The mini golf course is looking good and should be ready to officially open soon.

There is a Make-it-Shine event this Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 to noon for a cleanup effort of the city. Everyone is invited to come and help, and the meeting place is at the Armory.

Cafe Verte, the new coffee shop in Ronceverte, is set to open on April 25.
