WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – The Board of Vandalia Health has selected Jeff Sandene as its next President and CEO.

Sandene has more than 30 years of health care experience, serving in a variety of roles, both in operations and strategy. His experience includes overseeing system-wide operations including quality and finance, physician relations, guiding integrated delivery system strategy, managed care contracting, mergers and acquisitions, and long-range strategic planning in both regional and system operations.

Since 2017, Sandene has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) and currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Vandalia Health.

Sandene’s vision for Vandalia Health includes being a hub for clinical excellence, medical research and education, attracting and retaining top talent, being the employer of choice and fostering collaboration with leading academic institutions.

Sandene will replace Dave Ramsey. Ramsey came to CAMC in 2000 and became the President and CEO of Vandalia Health after it was created in 2022.

Sandene will continue to serve in his current role as CFO during the search for his replacement. Ramsey will continue to serve as Vandalia Health’s President and CEO until his retirement in July 2026.
