On Saturday, April 7, the Greenbrier East girls track team competed at the Carlos Akers & Doc Hale Memorial HS Invitational 2024 at Cabell Midland High School.
East had an extraordinary day as Neena McClintic won the 800-meter run and the 1600-meter run. Annie Whited placed second in the 400-meter dash.
McClintic broke her own record in the 1600-meter run from last season with a time of 5:18.38. Last year, when she broke the record, it had been held for 34 years by Bridgette Krystynak. In the 800-meter run, McClintic broke the school record that was held by Elise McClintic that she set in 2005.
“Our goal is to peak at the right time at regionals and states,” Robert McClintic said.
