Evelene Eva Loudermilk
Evelene Eva Loudermilk, 90, of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2024, at her residence.
Born October 19, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Bud and Nora Coulter Bryant.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairlea, Deacon of Crowder Memorial Baptist Church, Petersburg, VA, Lioness Club in Lewisburg, National Twins Association, and several other organizations. She retired from Broward County School Board, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she worked in food services. Evelene enjoyed sewing, cooking, and picnics in the park, as her four children were growing up in Oakland Park, FL. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working in the yard, where neighbors often commented how beautiful she made the neighborhood. She also enjoyed working for a small catering business on the side.
In 1986, at the age of 55, she attended night school and gained her high school diploma from Fort Lauderdale High School. During her retirement years, she enjoyed travel and seeing the sights of the world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Madeline (Audrie) Henson (2018), of Brooksville, FL; her first husband and father of her children, Alvin Leo Loudermilk, (1991); her sons, Edward Alvin Loudermilk, of Fort Lauderdale, FL (2008), David Allen Loudermilk, of Cleveland, TN (2020); and daughter, Lesa Darlene (Loudermilk) Vargas, of Oakland Park, FL (2020); and her late husband, Hubert (Hub) Loudermilk, (2021).
Survivors include her daughter, Chrestia (Loudermilk) Bradley (Ron Bastiani) of Port St. Lucie, FL; step daughter, Renee Rehmar, of Westminister, MD; two sisters, Velma Loudermilk of Bassett, VA, Norma Martin (Curtis) of Martinsburg, WV; six grandsons, Jason Loudermilk of Boca Raton, FL, Logan Loudermilk of Cleveland, TN, Christopher and Steven Bradley, both of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kyle and Cody Vargas, both of Boynton Beach, FL; five great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jacob, Easton, Isabela, and Chloe; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her caregivers, Paula Wygal, Tracy Glover (and Layton), Lisa Kuhn, and Juanita Plumley, for the wonderful care they provided to Evelene and Hub.
Evelene was a happy and caring mother, sister, friend, and neighbor to everyone. She was truly a loving soul.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Pastor Stewart Farley and Pastor Bubby Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
