Lacy L. Toothman, DDS, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2018.
He was born on January 22, 1924, in Akron, OH, and spent his early years in Williamsburg, WV.
He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and later worked as a welder building “Liberty Ships” in Baltimore, MD. He entered the Army Air Corps and trained as a flight cadet, receiving an honorable discharge at the end of World War II.
After the war, he graduated from the OSU College of Dentistry in 1954 and practiced in the Upper Arlington and Northwest Columbus area for 50 years. As an aircraft owner and a pilot, Lacy participated in several flying organizations and groups. He also enjoyed boating and was a 32nd degree Mason in the Shrine Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rowena; his son, Thad; and a grandson, Michael.
He is survived by three sons; Craig (Tricia), Scott, and Barth (Kimberly); as well as 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 17, from 5-7 p.m. at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221.
