MONROE COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – According to reports, the Monroe County Sheriff, Jeffrey Jones, has been charged in connection to an investigation involving a deputy allegedly soliciting nude photographs from a minor. The West Virginia State Police reportedly discovered that Jones had interfered in the investigation.
Allegedly, Jones lied to the Monroe County Civil Service Commission during the hiring process for the deputy under investigation. He also reportedly failed to file a referral with the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and to comply with the lawfully issued subpoena.
Jones was arrested and subsequently arraigned on Friday, Sept. 15. The arraignment took place in the Monroe County Magistrate Court System. He was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
