Cast Your Vote for the Gbr East/Gbr West Diamond Players of the Week

Please vote for the WV Daily News Greenbrier East and Greenbrier West Diamond Players of the Week for the week of April 15-20. Two players from each team in the county (GE baseball, GE softball, GW baseball, and GW softball) are all listed together. We will take the top vote getter from each school and announce the winners on Monday nights (time may vary week-to-week). Again, there will be a winner from each school. Voting this week closes Monday, April 22, 2024, at 4:00 PM.

NOMINEES:

Gavin Bennett- hit .312 with a double, 2 runs scored, and an RBI. Pitched 13 innings on the mound, allowed just 6 hits, and had 14 strikeouts. ERA was 4.30.

Zion Detko- hit extremely well. Batted .466 with a home run and two triples. He also scored 3 runs and drove in 5 more in a 5-game week for the Spartans.

Preslee Treadway- In a 3-2 week for the Lady Cavs, including a current 3-game win streak, Treadway hit .500 with 2 triples, 5 runs scored, and had 5 RBIs.

Brooke Patterson- weekly stat line of .411, 7 runs, triple, 3 RBIs and her second POW nomination this season.

Alanis McClary- In 5 games, McClary was as consistent as they come. She hit .526 with 3 triples and a double. She also scored 8 runs and drove in 3 more from her leadoff spot.

Kayla Bartley- Dominant week from Bartley where the numbers speak for themselves–> .625, HR, 3 doubles, 8 runs, 9 RBIs. On the mound–> 16 innings, 9 hits, 33 strikeouts, ERA of 0.00.

Levi Ramsey- hit. 300 in a week that included the Cavs first win. Added a double, 3 runs scored, and 3 RBIs to his weekly totals.

Braydon McClung- average of .500 with a double, 6 runs, 3 RBIs at the plate. As a pitcher, he threw 7 innings, allowed just 3 hits, 1 run, and struck out 12.
