Helen Wiley, 89, of Lewisburg, WV, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
Born July 1, 1938, in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of Richard Lewis and Anna Brown.
She worked as a caregiver, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, where she served as past president of the usher board. She was also a dedicated member of the Tuesday and Saturday Night Prayer Warriors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred “Slim” Wiley; three brothers, and five sisters.
Left to cherish precious memories are her son, Steven Wiley Sr. (Fahima); daughters, Brenda Sheffey and Linda Baxter (Larry Sr.); seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 149 Foster Street, Lewisburg, with Pastor Ronald L. Sherrod Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, August 30, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Lewisburg.
