Daniel Royd “Danny” Shafer, 62, of Caldwell, WV, went home to heaven on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at his home.
Born January 4, 1955, at White Sulphur Springs, WV, he was the son of Royd and Nina Marie Loudermilk Shafer.
Danny has worked for The Greenbrier as a supervisor in housekeeping and upholstery. He attended Zions Light Baptist Church and previously was a member of the Caldwell Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Wayne Shafer; and a niece, Kimberly Shafer.
Survivors include a brother, Donald Shafer and wife, Deanna, of Caldwell; sister, Charlotte Lewis and husband, Jerry, of Bealeton, VA; nephews, Ronald Shafer of Alderson, WV, and Randy Lewis of Culpeper, VA; nieces, Regina Jenkins and husband, Allen, of Bealeton and Heather Graham and husband, Billy, of Ronceverte, WV; niece-in-law, Julie Shafer of Ronceverte; grandnieces and grandnephews, Katrina Ramsburg and husband, Kawliga, Amanda Embrey and husband, Jeff, Adam Shafer, Calah Shafer, and Taylor and Jacob Graham; great-grandnephews, Brian and Will Iannarelli; and great-grandniece, Kimber Ramsburg.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at the Zions Light Baptist Church in Ronceverte with Pastors Gary Baker and Mark Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in the McLean Cemetery in Ronceverte.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, August 30, at the Morgan Funeral Home, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV, 24901, on one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
