Stewart Hill “Pete” Alderman
Stewart Hill “Pete” Alderman, 86, of White Sulphur Springs, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Lewisburg Healthcare Center in Ronceverte, where he resided for several years.
Pete was born June 24, 1937, at White Sulphur Springs, a son of the late Wyatt Hill Alderman and Kathleen Edna Wickline Alderman.
He was a retired sous-chef for The Greenbrier Hotel, with 41 years of service. Pete was a devoted superintendent and member of Eakle Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and very devoted to his country, often times Pete would be found behind the wheel of the DAV van, transporting veterans to and from appointments. He, along with his father, raised Angus cattle for many years on the Alderman Farm, where he was raised, on Big Draft Road in White Sulphur Springs. Pete’s many passions included his work, his faith, his farm, his family, and his friends.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Hester Nemcik, Cynthia Gail Kelly; and an infant sister, Beatrice Dianne Alderman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Melissa Brock of Apopka, FL, Elizabeth “Betty” Turner of White Sulphur Springs; a brother-in-law, John Kelly of White Sulphur Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Eakle Chapel United Methodist Church, White Sulphur Springs. Pastor John Kelly and Mr. Stephen Wickline will officiate the service.
