Gloria Lee Godfrey, 80, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, was taken home by her guardian angels on Monday night, March 28, 2016, to abide with her heavenly Father forevermore.
Born in White Sulphur Springs on March 27, 1936, she was a daughter of the late William McKinley and Corine V. Jackson Franklin.
After graduating high school, she worked as a room attendant at The Greenbrier. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in White Sulphur Springs.
She leaves to mourn her death one daughter, Regina E. Godfrey of Huntington, WV; sons, Gary Godfrey of Lewisburg, WV, and Robert Godfrey (Variese) and Kelvin Godfrey (Robin), all of Sacramento, CA; sister, Gwendolyn F. Wilson of Covington, VA; grandchildren, Randall Jr., Gregory, Chris, Joel, Terron, Telia, Cody, Kaden, and Keali Godfrey, Christopher White, and Morgan Tucker of Covington; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Barbara C. Johnson; classmate, Sarah Carter; and special neighbor and friend, Carol Carter.
Her memorial service will be conducted on Monday, April 4, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in White Sulphur Springs at 1 PM with the Rev. Greg Scott officiating. A private burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs at a later date.
