Elizabeth “Libby” Janet Redden, 91, of Springdale, WV, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV.
Born March 5, 1923, at Springdale, she was the daughter of the late Murphy B. Sr. and Maggie Meador Ford.
Elizabeth was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of the Springdale Baptist Church, the Springdale Homemakers Women’s Club, and the Raleigh/Fayette Genealogical Society.
Elizabeth also served as an EMT with the Danese Rescue Squad.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paulis C. Redden Sr.; son, Charles Redden; sisters, Eva Ford, Faye Flanagan, Estelle Campbell, and Althea Simms; and brother, Murphy B. Ford Jr.
Survivors include sons, Paulis and wife, Kay, of Austin, TX, Allen and wife, Donna, of Lewisburg, WV, Stephen and wife, Marsha, of Layland, WV, Stewart and wife, Sandy, of Kernersville, NC, Tommy of Montgomery WV, Mark and wife, Marilyn, of Williamsburg, VA, Teddy of Springdale, and David of Roberts, WI; daughters, Miriam Bisaillon and husband, Jeff, of Marion, IL, and Nora Hiser of Springdale; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for Sunday, February 15, 2015, at 1 PM at the Springdale Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville, WV.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Saturday, February 14, at the funeral home and one hour before the service from 12-1 PM at the church on Sunday.
