Alice Mary Buckland, 78, of Ronceverte, WV, died peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV, surrounded by family and friends.
Alice was born August 9, 1936, in Mill Hall, PA, to the late James and Mary Snyder.
Alice was of the Baptist faith. She was a 1954 graduate of Chester High School in Pennsylvania. She was a former employee of Kellwood Company and retired from Kroger Company in Ronceverte.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, George Bumgarner; second husband, Billy Joe Buckland; daughter, Jo Ann Lester; brothers, Harry and Kenneth Snyder; and a sister, Betty Shirey.
Survivors are her children, George Bumgarner of Rainelle, WV, Timothy Bumgarner of Meadow Bridge, WV, Nancy Sark (John) of Maxwelton, WV, Teresa Cain and companion, David Wittkamper, of Union, WV, and Jay Bumgarner (Debbie) of Renick, WV; one stepdaughter, Bettina Sacher (Wolfgang) of Germany; a special son-in-law, Silas Lester of Pennsylvania; brothers, Dean Snyder (Sharon) of California and Jim Snyder of California; a sister, Dorothy Becker of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 1 PM at McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV, with the Rev. Mark Gillenwater officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Knob Church Cemetery near Talcott, WV.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Thursday.
