Wayne Edward “Ed” Sykes, 55, of Hiwassee, VA, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014, at his home.
Born July 11, 1959, in Ronceverte, WV, he was the son of the late Lloyd Layton and Margie Walkup Sykes.
His brother, Orville Walter Sykes, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Reginia Sykes of Hiwassee; stepson, Joshua Lee O’Dell of Winchester, VA; stepdaughter, Angie Brown of Covington, VA; step-grandson, Reid Brown; sister, Sharon and Jerry Craft of Sharon, VA; brothers, Duane and Angelia Sykes of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Michael and Virginia Sykes of Fincastle, VA, William Douglas and Cindy Sykes of Clintonville, WV, and David Ray and Jane Sykes of Clintonville; sister-in-law, Kathy Sykes of Manassas, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, November 28, 2014, at the Hiwassee Pentecostal Holiness Church on Julia Simpkins Road, Hiwassee, with the Rev. Don Scott officiating. Interment will follow a the Cox Cemetery in Dugspur, VA.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12 PM until service time at the church.
