Charles “Charlie” Wesley O’Brien, 79, much loved husband and father, died Thursday, September 25, 2014, after a short illness.
He was born October 26, 1934, in Ronceverte, WV, the son of the late Mike S. and Lorena Fink O’Brien.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Fort Spring, WV. Charlie was a truck driver for Ripco for many years and drove tractor trailers and had many other jobs through the years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita “Susie” Carter; a granddaughter, Katie Ann Arthur; and a grandson, Tommy North.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy “Dot” Whitt O’Brien; daughters, Debbie McClung (Scott) of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Kaye Lowry (Gary McDaniel) of Crawley, WV, Cheryl “Sherry” North (Gary) of Churchville, VA, and Lisa Arthur (Shannon) of Gap Mills, WV; son-in-law, George Carter of Ronceverte; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 AM on Monday, September 29, 2014, at Welch-Hanger Cemetery on Muddy Creek Mountain, Fort Spring, with the Rev. Ed Vallandingham officiating.
Visitation will be from 6-9 PM on Sunday, September 28, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
