Jimmie “Jay” Murphy Jr., 21, of Neola, WV, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born September 14, 1992, he was a son of Tammy Popivich of Sweetwater, TN, and the late Jimmie Murphy Sr.

Jimmie was of the Christian faith and graduated from Greenbrier East High School in Fairlea, WV, in 2010.

He liked to work on restoring cars, carpentry, farming, welding, and riding his horse, Sherry. He also worked out West with the harvesting crews.

Survivors, other than his mother, are one sister, Kristine Murphy Price of Sweetwater; three brothers, Craig Popivich and Ryan Murphy of Sweetwater and Jeremy Murphy of Lorain, OH; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and special friends, Jim Callison and Ronnie and Patty Roles, and family.

His funeral service was held Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at 11 AM in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home with Pastor Allan Hilton officiating.

Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to help with the funeral expenses.

Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs served the family.
