Ruth Evelyn Logan, 88, of Kester, WV, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at her residence.

Born April 1, 1926, in Terra Alta, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jess Daniel and Anna Elizabeth Stieringer.

After marrying Robert L. Logan in 1947, she lived for many years in Morgantown, WV, and later moved to Charleston, WV. While in Charleston, she was active in the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, YWCA, and “Y” Wives. She was a homemaker known for her cooking, baking, sewing and crafts.

In 1978, she and her husband, Robert, moved to Lewisburg, WV, eager to enjoy their retirement. Over the years, she attended Emmanuel Open Bible Church and Peterstown Christian Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert L. Logan; and a brother. 

She is survived by her daughter, Mary L. Boone and husband, Dale; sons, Robert L. Logan Jr. and wife, Nesta, and David W. Logan; granddaughters,

Kathleen Olivera and Melissa Torres; and great-grandchildren, Brandon Olivera, Sofia Olivera, Kaitlyn Torres, and Abigail Torres.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 2 PM at the McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kanawha HospiceCare Inc., 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
