Gavin Allen Thompson, 38, formerly of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Lewisburg, WV, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, KY.
Born March 28, 1976, in Morehead, KY, he was the son of Pamela Caskey Workman and husband, Kevin, of Lewisburg and Greg Thompson and wife, Barbara, of Morehead.
Other survivors include brothers, Andrew Workman of Huntington, WV, and Daniel Workman and Hunter Workman, both of Glenwood Springs, CO; paternal grandmother, Aileen Thompson, as well as other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Emmitt and Opal Little Caskey; and paternal grandfather, William Allen Thompson.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God with the Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial followed in Brown Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday, April 25, at 5 PM at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for the construction of a church/life center in northern India in memory of Gavin. Donations may be made to India Gospel League with a notation in the memo line “Gavin Thompson Life Center Memorial Fund” and sent to India Gospel League, Life Center Fund, 1521 Georgetown Road, Suite 305, Hudson, OH 44236.
Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Inc. in Morehead was in charge of arrangements.
