James Franklin Mohler, 69, of Union, WV, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014, at his residence following a short illness.
Born September 6, 1944, at Salt Sulphur Springs, WV, he was the son of the late William D. and Mary Bare Mohler.
Mr. Mohler was a retired school bus driver for Monroe County Schools.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Andrew Mohler on August 2, 2014.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lashmit Mohler of Union; two sons, Greg Mohler and companion, Sherry Sparks of Salt Sulphur Springs and Rick Parsons and wife, Trish, of Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Lorie Butts and husband, Larry, of Hedgesville, WV, and Bonnie Shirley and husband, Kevin, of Bunker Hill, WV; two brothers, William E. Mohler and wife, Edna, of Salt Sulphur Springs and Oswald Mohler and wife, Reta, of Peterstown, WV; two sisters, Bonnie Morgan and husband, Kermit, of Organ Cave, WV, and Betty Morgan and husband, Mark, of Ronceverte, WV; father-in-law, Marshall Sullivan Jr. of LaPlate, MD; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Butts, Kristen LeMaster, Mark Shirley, Samantha Witt, Austin Parsons, Nevaeh Cook, Leland Miller, Wayne Mohler, and Lola Mohler; five great-grandchildren, Naomi LeMaster, Brielle LeMaster, Grace Witt, Conner Shirley, and Luke Shirley; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014, at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union following the conclusion of the visitation with Charlie Anderson officiating and music by Joey Morgan.
Friends may call Thursday from 6-7 PM at the funeral home.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
