COVID-19 testing continues to be available throughout Greenbrier County on a daily basis. The Greater Greenbrier COVID-19 Task Force would like to ask for everyone’s cooperation with making use of these testing locations.
According to an update provided by the Task Force on Tuesday, Dec. 1, “Please do not show up to the emergency room for a COVID test. That’s not helpful right now to our emergency rooms which are dealing with urgent situations.”
The Task Force asks that residents make use of community testing services available at the Robert C. Byrd Clinic, MedExpress, Greenbrier Physicians, Rainelle Medical Center and the Monroe Health Center.
As part of the update provided by the Task Force, the Greenbrier County Health Department said, “cases continue to rise significantly. Our infection rate is high, and our daily percent positive remains low.”
Currently, there are 13 patients being treated for COVID-19 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
The Task Force’s report further states, “Several nurse and provider (at the GVMC) are out with COVID right now. They are using telehealth to provide services to patients remotely. Visitation is currently limited. Last week, we curtailed surgical patients requiring overnight stays and will continue that practice for the time being.”
