LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The annual Earth Day Fashion Forward event is coming up fast (April 20 at 3 p.m. at the Lewis Theater in Lewisburg), but there’s still time to buy tickets, become a sponsor, and even enter this sustainable fashion contest.
This year’s theme for the event is “Garden Party.” The event celebrates the trend of repairing, reusing and repurposing fabric and other materials to reduce waste in our landfills and promote the health of our planet.
In addition to the fashion show, there will be a musical performance by Charleston artist Mike Pushkin, (who is also the Chair of the West Virginia Democratic Party) a “Farm to Fashion” presentation by WVU School of Design and Community Development, and a silent auction.
Awards will be given in a range of categories. Both amateur and professional designers are encouraged to enter.
The event is sponsored by Greenbrier County Democratic Women’s Club as a fundraiser for their Blue Skies Ahead get-out-the-vote work. The entry form, tickets, and sponsor info are available at edfashionforward.com.
