New and evolving small businesses and entrepreneurs are encouraged to participate in Monroe County’s first business development series beginning January 2023. Participants will experience a series of workshops to hone their entrepreneurial goals and plan, and upon the completion of the series be eligible for up to $3,000 in technical assistance. Participation is free but registration is required, and business support funds will be distributed only to those completing at least the minimum participation requirements.
A partnership between the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Corporation, Friends of Monroe Inc., WVU Extension and others, Start Up Monroe is a program to support those with new or potential enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs evolving to transfer ownership or managerial roles or expand services.
The tentative timeline is to host the educational interactive workshops early January throughout Monroe County or at a location most suitable for the identified participants. This technical assistance award program is limited to 10 applicants.
People interested in participating should register by Nov.17 at www.friendsofmonroe.org.
