LEWISBURG (WVDN) – In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Greenbrier Valley Breast Cancer Support Group hung a wreath at the Greenbrier County Courthouse on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Pictured above is Judy McFall, Hilda Halstead, Judy Shellnutt, Betty White and Brinda Renick.
Special thanks to Jerry Halstead, their wreath hanger for many years, and Pastor Sam McClung who had prayer with the group and talked about breast cancer survivorship.
A woman has a 1 in 8 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. It is recommended women who are at average risk begin screening mammography at age 50. Screening and early detection of breast cancer are vital to the health and well-being of women.
