LEWISBURG (WVDN) – On Wednesday evening, the Lewisburg Surf Shop turned Stratton Alley in downtown Lewisburg into a Moroccan-style bazaar filled with vintage rugs.
The event was a fundraiser for the Women’s Health Center of West Virginia, with proceeds from rugs sales supporting the center.
Visitors were treated to Moroccan fare prepared by Swift Level Fine Meats featuring lamb kabobs, chicken and couscous, and spiced olives.
The rugs were provided by Emmy Ellison of De Maroc Home. Ellison was on hand at the event to share information about the vintage floor coverings.
De Maroc’s one-of-a-kind vintage and antique Moroccan rugs are handpicked by Ellison, who discovers them in renowned textile regions of Morocco and are specially chosen for their rarity and exceptional artistry.
