SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (WVDN) – New River Community and Technical College is offering two mining electrician retraining opportunities this fall. Students may attend the one-day class in person at the Nicholas County Campus in Summersville on Friday, Oct. 21 or Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, or to participate through Zoom video conferencing. Both retraining classes will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mine electricians in West Virginia must complete continuing education courses each year to keep their MSHA certification current.
Tuition for the class is $50, and preregistration is required. Attendees participating through Zoom video conferencing will receive the class link after they have registered and paid for the class.
