RUPERT (WVDN) – The Rupert Public Library celebrated West Virginia Day, on June 17, by inviting John Wyatt to tell stories about Appalachian History. The library was honored to have a visit from Senator Stephen Baldwin.
The library featured many items old and new which were manufactured in our lovely state. Those items included Fiestaware, Fenton glass, Blenko glass, Marble King marbles, items made by the local Woodturners Association, and a barrel made in Caldwell by the West Virginia Great Barrel Company.
Patrons were delighted to know they could have some free marbles to take home for their collections.
The library also featured books written by West Virginia authors that patrons could check out. Library staff and board members furnished wonderful snacks which were topped with West Virginia flag toothpicks.
