My name is Preston Zopp and I am asking you to vote for me for the Greenbrier County Board of Education – Western End Representative.

I worked for the Greenbrier County Board of Education for 43 years as a teacher, coach and school administrator, 42 Years at Crichton School and one year at Smoot School. I begain my teaching career when communities had their own high schools.

I was a teacher for 10 years and a principal at Crichton for 33 years. I have taught elementary students, junior high students and senior high students. I coached junior high football and basketball at Crichton and basketball and baseball at Smoot High School.

As Principal I was responsible for students in grades kindergarten through ninth grade and later students in the pre-kindergarten program as well as other school related duties, activities and services.

I am aware of the various school programs provided or mandated for students by federal, state and county systems and have worked with county school officials in their implementation.

I am familiar with the various roles of teachers, aides, itinerants and service personnel including employment, evaluations and professional development.

I have lived in Greenbrier County all my life. My wife was employed for many years in the county school system. Our children and grandchildren attended Greenbrier County schools. We are retired and live in Rupert.

I have a wide range of experiences in my professional career and I believe that I can be a helpful and productive member of the Greenbrier County Board of Education.

Thank you for your support.
