KEYSER, W.Va. (WVDN) – Governor Patrick Morrisey joined local officials and residents in Keyser on Friday for a town hall event focused on the accomplishments of the 2026 legislative session and the impact of those policies on West Virginia families and communities.

“We have to keep delivering real results for the people of West Virginia,” said Governor Morrisey. “From tax relief to road investments to strengthening our health care system, this session was about making a difference people can actually see in their daily lives.”

During the event, Governor Morrisey highlighted several key accomplishments from the legislative session, including a 5% across-the-board income tax cut, investments in infrastructure, and funding to support education and workforce development.

The Governor also pointed to more than $2 billion in funding for roads and bridges, continued support for the HOPE Scholarship program, and a 3% pay raise for state employees, teachers, and school personnel. A major focus was the state’s Rural Health Transformation effort, which secured $199 million in funding for 2026 to improve health care access.

“This session was about laying a foundation for the future,” Governor Morrisey said. “We made responsible decisions, invested in priorities that matter, and put West Virginia in a position to grow and compete for years to come.”

Governor Morrisey also took questions from attendees while emphasizing the importance of engaging directly with communities across the state.
