RONCEVERTE (WVDN) – A boil water notice has been issued for Ronceverte in the areas of Matthews, Herman and Clay streets and anything west of Elm.
As of Mar. 8, a water problem occurred causing contamination of the water. Conditions indicate that there is a high probability that the water is contaminated. Testing has not occurred to confirm or deny the presence of contamination in the water, according to the boil water notice.
The city says that it is “hooking up new lines,” and they anticipate “resolving the problem within Mar. 14.” The city says citizens will be informed when the advisory ends.
• Do not drink your water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
