The Beckley Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce announces the organization’s 101st annual dinner to be held on Mar. 31 at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center.
The organization celebrated its 99th dinner in 2019, skipped 2020 and held the 100th event as a small luncheon in 2021 for only the board of directors, award recipients and their families.
The Annual Dinner is a community-centered event where business colleagues will come together to honor the 2022 Community Leadership Award Recipient, Tom Cochran, director, Raleigh County Memorial Airport, and hear from featured speaker, General Major James Hoyer, senior associate vice president, West Virginia University.
Since 1991, the Community Leadership Award has been given annually to the business leader or organization who has most positively impacted the community through their excellence in business leadership and community service over their lifetime.
The featured speaker at the annual dinner will be Maj. Gen. James Hoyer, who was head of the West Virginia National Guard as part of Gov. Justice’s administration until being recently appointed as senior associate vice president at West Virginia University. There he will be leader of the joint task force on vaccination and a key member of the COVID-19 advisory team.
Social Hour for the Chamber’s Annual Dinner is from 5:30-6:30 p.m. followed by dinner, the Community Leadership Award presentation, and featured speaker. Tickets and table sponsorships are available. To reserve, call the Beckley Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce.
