Davis Stuart staff participated in the #WearBlueDay campaign organized by the Department of Homeland Security earlier this month. Sharing information to their Facebook through January bringing awareness to a crime happening daily in our country, sometimes right before our eyes.
In efforts to prepare West Virginia’s vulnerable youth, Davis Stuart provides a comprehensive, evidence-based, trauma-informed prevention education program for all who are accepted into the Level 1 and Level 2 facilities. These trainings are provided by trained staff to recognize the warning signs.
Traffickers work to obtain the trust of their victims through gifts, love, friendship, drugs, or alcohol; they force the victims into a dependent relationship. Human traffickers’ online recruitment and grooming have increased as children spent more time online for virtual learning during the pandemic, and it is time to become more aware of the danger.
Davis Stuart, which serves all of West Virginia, operates as a private, nonprofit organization with the main campus located in Lewisburg and three community-based group homes in Maxwelton, Bluefield, and Princeton.
