A Pipestem man has been arrested on multiple reported cases of sexual assault.
According to information provided by the West Virginia State Police, on Tuesday, Oct. 19, officers of the Hinton detachment began an investigation into several reported cases of sexual assault.
Officers discovered that Matthew Russell Keaton, 29, was accused in all of the reported cases. He was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 20, by TFC Woods and charged with second degree sexual assault, first degree sexual abuse, strangulation, criminal invasion of privacy and unlawful restraint.
After his arrest, five additional female victims reported that they had also been victimized by Keaton.
Keaton, who was out of jail on bond, was arrested again on Monday, Oct. 25, on five counts of strangulation, two counts of first degree sexual abuse, three counts of second degree sexual assault, two counts of domestic battery, one count of unlawful restraint and one count of criminal invasion of privacy.
Keaton has now been charged with criminal acts against six separate female victims.
Other victims and witnesses have come forward to be interviewed and provide additional information.

Keaton is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $200,000 bond.
