LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) — Carnegie Hall invites creative makers to discover the colorful art of fused glass in “Hot Glass: Fused Glass Jewelry!,” a hands-on workshop led by Peggy Owens of Chaos Acres Studio from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. Designed for beginners, the class offers participants a chance to create handmade jewelry in time for the holiday gift-giving season.
Students will learn the basics of working with colored glass while designing and assembling their own pieces. Participants can choose from a variety of colors, shapes and patterns to make pendants, earrings or other jewelry. No previous glassworking experience is necessary, and all materials are provided.
The workshop is open to participants 10 and older, so both youth and adults can take part. Class size is limited to 15. Tuition is $35 per person. Adults 50 and older pay $20.
The workshop is part of Carnegie Hall’s ongoing Classes and Workshops series, which gives community members a chance to learn new skills and connect with fellow artists. Participants will leave with handcrafted jewelry suitable for holiday gifts or keepsakes.
