LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) — Carnegie Hall invites creative minds to celebrate the autumn season with “Colors of the Harvest: Make Your Own Jewelry!,” a beginner-friendly workshop led by artisan Connie Gottshall from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 7. Inspired by the warm colors of fall, the hands-on class offers participants a chance to design and create their own custom jewelry while learning basic techniques.
Participants will select from an array of beads and finishing accessories, including pearls, mixed metals, ceramic beads and natural stones. They can make earrings, a bracelet or a necklace. No previous experience is necessary.
Gottshall will also teach a second workshop, “Holiday Sparkle!,” from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Participants can make a personal gift or enjoy a group holiday outing while creating seasonal pieces from pearls, crystal beads and glass beads.
Both workshops are open to participants 14 and older and are limited to 12 students. The registration fee is $25 per person. A flat-rate materials fee, paid directly to the instructor, depends on the project: $15 for earrings, $25 for bracelets and $35 for necklaces.
The Make Your Own Jewelry Series is part of Carnegie Hall’s ongoing Classes and Workshops, which give community members a chance to explore new artistic skills and connect with fellow creatives.
