LOGAN, W.Va. (WVDN) – State Treasurer Larry Pack was in Logan on Tuesday where he presented more than $16,000 in unclaimed property funds to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
“Supporting our local law enforcement agencies is incredibly important, and we’re glad our Office can play a role in helping serve their communities,” Treasurer Pack said. “Returning these funds to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office puts money back where it belongs and can help provide additional resources for the men and women working every day to keep Logan County safe.”
Treasurer Pack presented $16,745.46 to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday afternoon. The money came from vendor checks and miscellaneous payments.
“We’re glad that the Treasury Office came down here and gave us an opportunity to have this money,” Logan County Sheriff Paul Clemens said. “Hopefully, the County Commission will take this money and let me have something for some equipment that I need. I know that it’ll be put to good use by the County Commission.”
Last month, Treasurer Pack announced his Office returned more than $3.2 million to individuals, businesses and organizations across West Virginia.
The State Treasurer’s Office has more than $527 million worth of listings in its database statewide. There are more than 71,000 unclaimed property listings worth more than $7.5 million in Logan County.
Since the start of Fiscal Year 2027, which began on July 1, 2026, the Treasurer’s Office has returned nearly $4.6 million to rightful owners.
