Lewisburg W.Va. (WVDN) – On Sunday, August 23rd, the Greenbrier County Democratic Women’s Club, the Greenbrier County Democratic Executive Committee, and Former State Senator Ron Miller and his wife, Cindy, hosted a picnic at the Miller Farm. Over 100 attendees enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, and covered dishes and had a chance to meet Democratic candidates for office in the upcoming election. Attendees came from over 9 counties, including Greenbrier, Summers, Nicholas, Fayette, Mercer, Pocahontas, Monroe, Kanawha, and Monongalia. Music was provided by Alabaster Boxer.

Attending and speaking were Kent Gilkerson, candidate for State Senate District 10; Sarah Umberger, candidate for House of Delegates 46; Sarah Morris, candidate for House of Delegates 47; and Jennifer Gilkerson, candidate for House of Delegates 40. Also in attendance were Rachel Fetty Anderson, Candidate for US Senate, and Vince George, candidate for the House of Representatives.

Mike Pushlin, Chair of the WV Democratic Party, introduced the candidates and acknowledged the Chairs of several Democratic Executive Committees. Paul Deuch was recognized for his years of service as chair of the Greenbrier County Democratic Executive Committee. Selina Vickers, DNC Committee Woman, and former state senators and delegates were also recognized.

Diane Browning, Vice President of the Club, stated, “This event was a great way for us to build camaraderie and excitement about the upcoming election.”
