Students from Greenbrier East High School receiving the scholarship include Nora Ambler, Nathaniel Vincent, Kennedy Stewart, Lucille Skelding, Emma Jo Palmer, Carter Wolfe, Emily McClure, Bella Kirkham, and Samuel Hawver. The awards were presented by Matt Baldwin, son of the late Stephen Baldwin, along with his daughter, Paisley Baldwin, and Fund Chairperson Tim Holbrook.

Stephen L. Baldwin served as Superintendent of Greenbrier County Schools from 1988 to 2002 and was widely respected for his leadership and commitment to education. The endowed scholarship fund was established in 2005 by the Greenbrier County Schools Foundation (GCSF) with a generous gift from his wife, Charlotte Baldwin, to honor his legacy.

The Stephen L. Baldwin Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to deserving seniors from Greenbrier East High School and Greenbrier West High School. Since its inception in 2006, the fund has awarded a total of 221 scholarships to local students, supporting their pursuit of higher education and continuing Baldwin’s lasting impact on the community.
